The acronyms I mean are the gender related ones, because they are unfortunately clumsy and exclusive at best. There have been additions to the original acronyms to include more genders/combinations of genders, DDLB, MDlg to name a couple. Even still they all fall under the age play umbrella. CGl (Caregiver/little) is an option, but still feels exclusive to me to those who don’t identify specifically with one of those roles (middles and flips for example) or for those wishing to include D/s. Age play is an inherently kinky activity, but not everyone takes it past a power exchange for the purpose of caring and supporting or being the one receiving these actions. Sure, gendered acronyms remove some of the communication. “I’m in to DDlg” usually points to the desire of more of a structured dynamic with ageplay flair. I just personally feel using the umbrella term of ageplay to start the conversation is generally more inclusive, and encourages more personalization in our relationships.
